Job Title: Photographer/Retoucher
Location: Maitland, FL (In-Person Position)
Classification: Full-Time, Hourly $22-$25 based on experience
Position Summary
The Photographer position at Rebecca Rose Fine Portraits is a creative role responsible for both capturing and enhancing luxury portraiture. This full-time position is divided between in-studio photography and in-studio retouching. As a Photographer, you will contribute directly to both the artistic creation and post-production refinement of client portraits, ensuring each image aligns with our brand's elevated standard of beauty, authenticity, and timelessness.
You'll be part of a collaborative, cross-trained studio team where flexibility, teamwork, and a strong client-centric approach are essential to delivering a polished and memorable client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Photography
- Lead and assist in client portrait sessions in accordance with company styling, posing, and luxury standards.
- Create a warm, confident, and engaging environment for clients especially families and children throughout their sessions.
- Ensure technical excellence in composition, lighting, and camera operation.
- Assist with studio setup, including lighting, props, and backdrops, ensuring readiness and brand consistency.
Editing & Retouching
- Retouch and enhance client images using Adobe Photoshop to a high-end, publication-quality finish.
- Perform tasks including skin smoothing, blemish removal, tone correction, contrast and clarity adjustments, and detailed artistic enhancements while maintaining the natural look of the subject.
- Maintain consistency across all edits, adhering to studio style guides and workflows.
- Complete final quality control reviews before client reveals or delivery.
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in team meetings and critiques; offer and receive constructive feedback to refine processes and maintain high standards.
- Communicate openly with studio leaders and fellow photographers/editors about client needs, scheduling, and project progress.
- Collaborate across roles to ensure seamless transitions from photography to editing, and ultimately to client sales and satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Experience level must be 7/10 minimum. (portfolio required, or ability to perform a live interview assessment)
- 3-5 years of professional photography experience.
- Detail-oriented with a refined aesthetic and passion for artistic excellence.
- Ability to receive and implement daily feedback gracefully and quickly.
- Professional demeanor with excellent time management and communication skills.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be comfortable working daily with children of all ages, and pets of all breeds and sizes.
We specialize in legacy portraits, that comprises the whole family- which often includes dogs or cats. Comfort with dogs of all breeds and sizes is essential, as Photographers are expected to confidently engage and pose pets during sessions.
Preferred Experience
1+ year in professional photography.
Experience in luxury portraiture or fine art photography is a strong plus, but not required!
Familiarity with print-quality retouching standards and high-volume editing workflows.
While the above qualifications are a strong plus, they are not required, and we always provide training. We are willing to work with the right candidate, someone who meets our company's values and is determined, even if their photography/editing experience is considered more beginner to intermediate.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time (approx. 40 hours/week), Wednesday through Saturday 10:30 AM 8:30 PM
- Pay Grade: $22-$25 with eligibility for sales commissions after probationary period.
- PTO, healthcare insurance plan and benefits eligibility after 90 days of employment.
- Opportunity for overtime pay and traveling to cover other studio locations, on occasion if available.
